Tuesday, November 30, 2010 - Last night at University of Toronto’s Hart House a lively exchange foreshadowed new issues facing Canadian books and publishing, as well as some long-standing concerns.
With revision of Foreign Investment Policy governing the Canadian publishing industry in the works, four panelists (Marc Côté, publisher of Cormorant Books; Jack David, publisher, of ECW Press; Sheila Koffman, proprietor of Another Story Bookshop; and David Kent, president and CEO of HarperCollins Canada) were steered through lively debate by moderator Carolyn Wood, executive director of the Association of Canadian Publishers.
