The author of numerous articles and newspaper columns, Goodspeed wrote a major 2002 non-fiction work, When Reason Fails: Portraits of Armies at War. Michael and his wife, Shannon, have three grown children and live in an old farmhouse in the Eastern Ontario countryside. His hobbies include reading, music, fitness, writing, travel, sailing and skiing.

What's ahead? Goodspeed's next novel from Blue Butterfly Books will pick up the career of Rory Ferrall, protagonist of Three to a Loaf, at a very different stage of his career in military espionage during the early years of Nazi Germany's occupation of The Netherlands.
